Volunteers

Mt. Hood National Forest works with many partners to deliver volunteer stewardship activities. Connecting with one of these partners is the best way to pursue volunteer opportunities on national forest lands. Here are a few ways volunteers provide critical help on national forests:

  • Build and maintain trails
  • Interact with the public as wilderness ambassadors
  • Inventory wildlife and plants
  • Act as campground hosts
  • Lead tours at Timberline Lodge
  • Monitor wildlife populations and educate visitors through organizations such as Hawkwatch, Cascadia Wild!, & Bird Alliance of Oregon

Additional volunteer opportunities across the country on public lands can be found at www.volunteer.gov.
